I (Mette) started Uldplaiden together with my son Emil back in 2020, which is an offshoot of Otherstuff . We had a burning desire to sell these delicious wool plaid blankets at a price that everyone can afford - without compromising on quality.

Almost all our plaids are woven in Ukraine under high standards, so we are sure that the environment is taken care of. Eg. they are ÖEKO Tex-marked and are transported to us by truck rather than by plane to reduce CO2 emissions.

Through my many years as a decorator, I have a great love for composition and creation. I love how you can give your home a completely new and personal look by combining different colors and materials. My own style is "little but good", which I would probably describe myself as Nordic and proven quality. That's why we only sell high-quality goods that you can use for many years.

My son Emil is responsible for all the technical aspects of the webshop. He actually has a sales and purchasing background, but is more interested in the technical side. It was therefore natural for us that he should be the man responsible for the technical part of the webshop.

Our head office is in the heart of Odense, where both Uldplaiden and Otherstuff are located, but we have a warehouse in Odense NV. It was a bit about how the Wool Plaid came to be. Below you can read more about how we take responsibility and look after the environment.

Design and quality

Design and quality lie deep in our DNA here at Uldplaiden. We have selected only the best suppliers with respect for the environment. Eg. our lambskins are by-products of meat production, which is your guarantee that no animals have been killed just for their skins. Likewise, the sheep have lived under natural conditions before the skin has been processed at a European organic tannery that meets European standards.

OEKO-TEX Mark

All our own wool plaid carpets are OEKO-Tex marked. This means that they have been tested for substances harmful to health and the environment, and you can therefore be sure that they are harmless to your health. The test is carried out by independent OEKO-Tex institutes according to the comprehensive OEKO-Tex criteria catalogue, which is updated at least once a year on the basis of new science. We take responsibility and look after our environment. We try every day to make a difference where we can. Therefore, we implement social and environmental considerations in our business activities. We are a member of Odense's sustainability council , which works for sustainable solutions in Odense. Including the UN's 17 world goals concerning environmental and social sustainability, and we do the same here at Uldplaiden. We use STOK Emballage , which is a member of EUMOS, has an FCS certificate, a BRC certificate and is a member of PackSynergy. In doing so, they do their part to take care of our earth, as their products are created and made with consideration for the environment, and thus provide the best prerequisites for online shopping.
